Most bottled water in India is manufactured. That's not an insult, it's a technical description. Municipal or borewell source, reverse osmosis to strip everything out, then a controlled dose of minerals added back to make it taste like something. It's safe, it's consistent, it's cheap, and it has roughly the same relationship to a mountain spring that instant coffee has to an espresso. And a growing group who simply decided that if they drink two litres of something daily, it's worth caring about what it is.
Price discipline matters here. Natural alkaline water costs more than mass-market bottled water and should, given the sourcing constraints and packaging. It shouldn't cost the earth. Brands that price it like champagne are selling a story rather than a substance. The honest positioning is straightforward: real water from a real place, in packaging that doesn't undo the point, at a price that lets you drink it daily rather than saving it for guests.
That last part is the actual test. A Sustainable water bottle choice only counts if you keep making it. Buy a case, live with it for a week, and notice whether you're reaching for it without thinking. If you are, you've found your water.
